Rohingya Refugees Need Your Help

Alhamdulillah, we are currently living in the US with plenty of blessing from Allah SWT. However, our brother and sister Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar (or Burma) were being prosecuted, and were suffering from violence that has made their desperate living conditions even worse.
This has forced many of them to flee from their homes in search of safety place. It is the biggest exodus in Myanmar in years. According to Islamic Relief-USA, in the last 12 months, as many as 35,000 Rohingya people have taken the dangerous boat ride from the Bay of Bengal to surrounding countries for shelter.

Hundreds of Rohingya refugees were recently stranded on the coast of North Aceh, Indonesia. PKPU, our partner in humanitarian and relief efforts in Indonesia, reported that the list of refugees in North Aceh consist of 581 people, including 76 women (including pregnant women), and 43 toddlers and teenagers. These people are facing starvation and severe illnesses.

As Rasulullah SAW said, “The Muslim Ummah is like one body.” – “The Believers, in their mutual love, mercy and compassion, are like one body: if one organ complains, the rest of the body develops a fever.” So for Muslims, it is an obligation to respond to the cries of the oppressed.

Insha Allah, this Friday the money received from the donation boxes at IMAAM Center will be sent to Indonesia to help these Rohingya refugees in North Aceh, Indonesia. This is our opportunity to help the helpless and protect those who cannot protect themselves.

So please donate generously this Friday at IMAAM Center. We accept cash or check, insha Allah; just put them in the boxes located on the first or second floor, or boxes that will be passed around after Friday prayer.

May Allah accepts and rewards your good deeds.

Wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
