Three new weekly programs at IMAAM Centers for kids, youth, and young adults

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Dear respected community members,

IMAAM will launch three new weekly programs at IMAAM Center for kids, youth, and young adults: Arabic Class, Computer Coding, and Math Tutoring.

(1)   Arabic Class for Youth, College-Age Students, and Young Adults

Why do you need to study Arabic? There could be several reasons, but the main one is because our Book, Al Quran is written in Arabic. Understanding the meaning of Allah’s words first hand will definitely be an advantage for Muslims. IMAAM offer this Arabic class for youth, college-age students, and young adults every Friday night from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The class will start on Friday, January 29, 2016. The student needs to purchase a textbook (information about textbook will be released later).

(2)   Computer Coding for 7-17 Years-Old Kids and Youth

This is a free coding opportunity which is being adopted worldwide for kids and youth between ages 7 to 17 years-old. This Spring class will meet every Saturday morning from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and will start on Saturday January 30th, 2016, for about 10-16 weeks. Students will learn computer coding for fun using languages such as HTML, JavaScript, etc.  A laptop is a requirement to bring to class. For those who cannot afford to bring a laptop, we may find a way to help provide one. For more information about the free coding movement please check this site https://coderdojo.com

(3)   Math Tutoring for Middle and High School Students

Math is a basic skill required for learning many other subjects such as technology, engineering, and may be a requirement for thousands of different jobs. For students who wish to pursue higher education, the challenges faced in their science courses potentially caused by lack of math skills. IMAAM offer this tutoring program for Middle and High Schoolers who really need help with math. This program is not for helping students do their homework from school (please don’t bring your math homework to this class), but instead to review the concepts and lessons that are difficult for them so that they will have better understanding and can master the subjects. Middle School and High School students will together meet everySaturday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The class will start on Saturday January 30th, 2016.
