Indonesian Muslim Association in America (IMAAM) condemns the act of violence in Orlando, Florida. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the families for their great loss from this tragic event. May God give the families strength to bear this loss.

SILVER SPRING, MD: On November 22, 2015 a number of organizations in the Washington, D.C. area will convene a summit of Muslim and Jewish clergy and religious leaders from across the region at the Indonesian Muslim Association in America (IMAAM) Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. This will be the second annual summit of its kind in the Washington D.C. area.
The summit co-sponsored by Jewish-Islamic Dialogue Society of Washington (JIDS),the greater Washington Area Muslim – Jewish Community Relations Coouncil of Greater Washington , The World Organization for research Development and Education , and Montgomery County Faith Community Working Group.
“The recent establishment of the Indonesian Community’s first cultural center and mosque in Silver Spring offered a change to display the diversity of the region’s Muslim Community ,as well as dispel the myth that Muslim are inherently of Middle Eastern descent, “says Nadia Syahmalina,a Member of the IMAAM Advisory Committe
IMAAM Thanksgiving Basket program has become a annual tradition in Rockville ,Maryland, thanks generous community support. Last year, we were able to provide full and partial baskets to all 30 economically disadvantaged family families that registered. This year, we’ve had more than 30 families register for a basket.
Our Thanksgiving Basket program was led by IMAAM Youth . The program gave the opportunity for youth to help the family in need and also who joined the program earned the SSL hour.
